Welcome to the month of April.
At the start of my prayer time, I heard the Lord say Break free from the shackles.
He is the LORD of the Covenant.
His spirit is upon you.
All Power and Authority He has given unto you.
Which then lead to this verse.
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Luke 10:19 NKJV
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Luke 10:19 KJV
TRAMPLE says the Lord!
He has given you POWER
Two types of power is mentioned here.
Lets look at the first; Power to tread.
This power is translated Exousia
Biblically, it means:
– the ability or strength with which one is endued, which he either possesses or exercises
– the power of authority (influence) and of right (privilege)
– the power of rule or government (the power of him whose will and commands must be submitted to by others and obeyed)
– universally- authority over mankind
– specifically- the power of judicial decisions
– of authority to manage domestic affairs
– metonymically- a thing subject to authority or rule
– jurisdiction- one who possesses authority
-a ruler, a human magistrate- the leading and more powerful among created beings superior to man, spiritual potentates
-the sign of regal authority, a crown
Unlike raw power (strength), exousia is about legal or rightful authority.
When Jesus Christ gives exousia, it means:
• You are authorized by God
• You act under His permission and covering
• Your authority is recognized in the spiritual realm
Example
In Luke 10:19:
“I give you authority (exousia)… over all the power of the enemy”
This means:
• You are given the right and authority to overcome, not just strength.
The next type of Power is – Dynamis
This is;
– strength power, ability
– inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth
– power for performing miracles
– moral power and excellence of soul
– the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth
– power and resources arising from numbers
– power consisting in or resting upon armies, forces, hosts
Dynamis refers to:
• Strength or ability
• Supernatural power
• Miraculous force
• Active, working energy
It’s not just potential—it’s power in action.
In scripture, dynamis is often used for:
- God’s miraculous power
• Power that heals, delivers, and performs miracles
Example: In Acts 1:8:
“You shall receive power (dynamis) when the Holy Spirit comes upon you…”
This means supernatural ability from God - Power at work in believers
• The ability to do what you could not do naturally
• Strength beyond human limitation - Power of the enemy (in a lesser sense)
In Luke 10:19:
• The enemy has dynamis = real ability to act or influence
• But it is under God’s authority
Key difference (very important)
The Bible contrasts two ideas:
• Exousia → Authority (the right to act)
• Dynamis → Power (the ability to act)
In Luke 10:19:
• You are given authority (exousia)
• Over the enemy’s power (dynamis)
So this month of April,
Tread and Trample upon the works of darkness.
Exercise your faith and the power that’s been given to you.
Speak into the areas of your life where you desire change.
Act on it- pray for the sick, cast out demons, decree and declare as the Holy Spirit leads you in bringing heaven here on this earth.
As the year started and the previous months went by I could sense so strongly that the LORD was speaking on reclaiming territory and many confirmations followed.
As you take a deeper look into your lives and situations, ask Holy Spirit to show you where the enemy has a room. Step out in power and reclaim what’s yours.
You are fully equipped.
Here are some prayer points you can use as a guide.
1. Prayer for Authority Over Spiritual Forces
- Prayer:
“Lord, I thank You for the authority You’ve granted me over every demonic power and spiritual force. I declare that through Your name, I can trample on serpents and scorpions, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I take authority over every scheme of the enemy in my life, family, and community in Jesus’ name.”
2. Prayer for Protection and Safety
- Prayer:
“Father, Your word assures me that nothing shall harm me. I claim Your divine protection over my life, my loved ones, and everything that concerns me. I plead the blood of Jesus over my household, workplace, and every area where I walk. Let no evil befall me or my family in Jesus’ name.”
3. Prayer for Boldness in Spiritual Warfare
- Prayer:
“Holy Spirit, empower me with boldness to stand firm in my authority in Christ. I refuse to live in fear or doubt, for You have given me power over the enemy. I declare victory in every battle I face, knowing that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Give me the courage to confront every attack of the enemy with faith and trust in Your power.”
4. Prayer to Overcome the Enemy’s Lies
- Prayer:
“Lord, I take authority over every lie and deception that the enemy tries to sow in my mind. I cast down every thought that is contrary to Your truth. I declare that I will only believe what You say about me, and I refuse to entertain fear, doubt, or negativity in my life. Your word is my shield and my sword.”
5. Prayer for Deliverance from Bondage
- Prayer:
“In the name of Jesus, I declare deliverance from every form of bondage, oppression, and spiritual captivity. I take authority over any generational curses, strongholds, or areas of my life where the enemy has gained a foothold. I command all chains to be broken and for freedom to reign in Jesus’ name.”
6. Prayer for Empowerment to Walk in Victory
- Prayer:
“Father, thank You for equipping me to walk in the authority You’ve given me. I declare that I am more than a conqueror through Christ. Empower me daily to walk in victory, overcoming every challenge with Your strength and wisdom. I trust in Your promise that nothing shall hurt me, and I will walk in the fullness of Your power.”
7. Prayer of Gratitude for God’s Protection and Victory
- Prayer:
“Thank You, Lord, for the incredible gift of authority You have given me. I praise You for the victory that is mine in Christ Jesus, for the protection You provide, and for the ability to stand against every evil attack. I rejoice in Your power and walk in the confidence that You are with me, and no weapon formed against me shall prosper.”
Until the next post,
Shalom Shalom,
